aim of colposcopy is to localize the area of disease on
the cervix. Conservative management can then be
instituted.

aim of the investigation and treatment nowadays is to
avoid the procedure of cone biopsy and/or hysterectomy.

methods of treatment are now easily available to those
who are trained in the modern management of abnormal Pap
smears and CIN

# Management of abnormal Pap
smears |

abnormal Pap smears of your cervix will be evaluated by
out-patient colposcopy
-
the colposcopy will be performed by a doctor trained and
experienced in the procedure of colposcopy
-
directed ( pin-point ) biopsy of the cervix will be done
( this is opposed to blind cervical biopsy & unnecessary
cone biopsy of the cervix )
-
result of this biopsy will be discussed with you
-
appropriate treatment of your problem will be discussed
with you
-
if acceptable to you and if so requested, the treatment
will be carried out by our doctor( treatment can also be
carried out by your own doctor )

follow-up treatment will be discussed with you
